New Course @ NYU ITP


2024 I am designing a new course for the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU Tisch called Music Design & Discovery for Fall 2024.
As ITP students are not necessarily musicians, we will approach music as a design problem, grounded more in information theory than music theory. Coursework will explore efficient heuristics for compositional play that sidestep the need for traditional music theory.

Faculty include Elliot Cole, Michael Harrison, Aleksandra Vrebelov, Payton McDonald, and the Bergamot Quartet.
Workshop topics include composition, counterpoint, Just Intonation, music production, Classical Indian rhythm and raga, and more.

Since 2020, Flowerpot Music has been an special project of Make Music Day, and is performed in dozens of cities each year on June 21
Events are promoted and supported by Peter Ferry
Note: Not the same piece as Flowerpot Music No. 1, a fully notated duo, which probably needs a new name!
